Experience
I earned my bachelor's degree in Chinese Studies from the SUNY at Albany. I studied Mandarin to the point where I am fluent in the language, and minored in Japanese Studies. My greatest tutoring experience comes from working with students on an individual basis on writing academically. I get great satisfaction when I see the students I tutor achieve the goals they have set for themselves, and knowing that I helped them get there. My philosophy as a tutor is that my student and I work as a team. We share the goal of the student's academic success, and work together towards this, with me guiding and the student working hard to achieve and sometimes surpass their goals. I tutor students in the subjects I am most comfortable with, so mainly that is Mandarin, but also English as a Second Language, beginning Japanese, and writing. Outside of academic life, I have hobbies like playing the cello, violin, and piano, as well as practicing the culinary arts and writing.
